Amendments proposed to Public Space Protection Orders

Have your say on Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) amendments to extend them in more areas.

Public Space Protection Orders (PSPOs) help our local communities by tackling anti-social behaviour. We've had requests to extend them to more public spaces.

Following the implementation of the current orders on 5 November 2024, we are looking to make some amendments to help to improve community safety.

Who we work with

We work with partner organisations to protect public spaces. Our partners include:

  • Cumbria Police
  • Lake District National Park Authority
  • the National Trust
  • local groups

Draft PSPO amendments

Our draft amendments aim to address issues through several PSPO orders.

Dog Orders

More play areas would be added as Dog Exclusion zones, where dogs would not be allowed.

A new Dogs on Leads requirement in some Eden areas.

Alcohol and Anti-social Behaviour Orders

The amendments would cover Askam and Dalton areas.

Fire, Barbeques, Vehicles and Structures Orders

The amendments would cover Blea Tarn Little Langdale, Coniston East Shore, and Windermere West Shore.

We want to hear your feedback on the drafts before any final decisions.
