Kendal Riverside Active Travel consultation

As part of the Active Travel project, we’re looking to install an active travel route through the town centre and along the River Kent.

The route follows New Road (A65) from its junction with Stramongate to Miller Bridge. It links into the town centre via Kent Street and continues along the riverside path. It provides a shared route for walking, wheeling and cycling to Dowker’s Lane and Nether Bridge.

We want to hear your views on the proposed amendments to the active travel route.

Community engagement and feedback is an important part of the process and will help to shape our initial ideas, to ensure we can make the proposals the best they can be.

We would like your feedback before further design, formal approvals and consents progress.

Drop-in sessions

We are holding two drop-in sessions at Kendal Parish Hall on:

  • Wednesday 5 November 2025 1pm to 6pm
  • Thursday 6 November 2025 1pm to 6pm

You can talk to our officers about the proposals before you give feedback.
