"Great asset for the community" celebrates 10 years

This summer, people in Shap are celebrating ten years since they took over the Old Courthouse in the village.  It now houses art exhibitions and performances as well as the village library, a playgroup, and meetings by a number of local groups. The Old Courthouse also jointly stages a monthly Farmers and Makers Market alongside Shap Parish Council, showcasing local produce and crafts.

Walking in the footsteps of the Windermere Children

80 years after the 300 Windermere Children were rescued from the Holocaust and brought to the Lake District, 300 modern day children have been brought to Windermere by train to hear about the kindness the Windermere Children were shown during their time here.
