Before you report a missed bin or recycling check whether:
- it was put out on the right day - find your bin collection day
- it was placed at the kerbside and could be clearly seen
- it contained the correct items
- the crew haven’t put a sticker on your bin explaining why it was not emptied
- the lid was closed – if the bin is so full that the bin does not close properly it will not be collected
From 29 June 2026, if you need to report a missed garden waste bin, you should check if:
- you have a subscription for the garden waste bin
- if you have a subscription, that there’s a valid subscription sticker under the handle
- you’ve used a bin that we have issued - we cannot collect garden waste from any other bin or container

Sometimes we might not have collected your bin because of issues like:
- flooding
- snow and ice
- a blocked road
- a vehicle breakdown.
