Community food outlets and food banks

Find organisations offering emergency food parcels and assistance for those in need

We recommend contacting groups directly before attending as their opening times and support may differ.

Some groups focused on tackling food waste are open to all.

To get help from a food bank you need to be referred with a voucher.

Your GP, housing association or Citizens Advice can assess you for a food voucher and provide signposting for help towards your crisis.

About the food club

Weekly food club where members can collect a box of FareShare food items destined for landfill also including fresh fruit and veg. £2.00 per week donation.

Alston Moor Food Bank

About the food bank

Support Areas: Alston Moor, Slaggyford, and Ayle.
Foodbank requests can be made out of operating hours, please call the main telephone number to make a referral.
 

Ambleside Community Food Club & Café

Surplus food is collected locally and distributed to Food Club members in the form of a pre-packed bag of food. 

Refreshments available when collecting for cuppa and chat 

Food items can be donated to the group.
