Local traders will be offering an array of home-made crafts, produce and gifts including local honey, cheese, handmade wreaths, bath products, children’s toys, cakes, jams and chutneys, handcrafted hot drinks, takeaway food and much more at Barrow Outdoor Spring Market.

It will be the first themed outdoor market of 2024 and take place on Friday 26 April from 10am until 4pm.

The outdoor stall holders will be joining Barrow Market Hall’s 20-plus traders to showcase the area’s wealth of independent businesses and encourage people to shop locally.  The outdoor and indoor markets are operated by Westmorland and Furness Council.

Jacqui Armstrong, the council’s Barrow Markets Manager, said: “It is going to be a great day of local independent shopping at Barrow Markets. We are appealing to our community to support our traders so that we can bring more monthly markets to Barrow town centre in the future.

“We have a fabulous mix of traders attending the Spring Market offering tasty selections of cheese, locally produced honey, handmade jewellery, candles, wax melts, bath and home products, pretty hair accessories, delicious home-baked cakes, toys, along with hot takeaway food and beverages.

“We are delighted to welcome the Coffee D’ash mobile coffee pod, Mcmunchies burger van, The South Lakes Honey Company, cake makers Yummy Delicious, Kick Ass Cheese, Bellyboy Blacksmith, Flicker Handmade By Lisa, Just Wuf, The Fabowlous Boutique, Flora and Luna, Christine’s Kitchen, Toys Galore and The Old Smithy Fish and Chip Van. Barrow AFC and their mascot Bluey will also be attending.

“There will be something for everyone, including more than 20 local independent businesses inside Barrow Market Hall.

“Our pitches are filling up fast but you can still book a place by emailing markets1@westmorlandandfurness.gov.uk and ask for further details.”
