Cover Supervisor

The Governors of St Bernard’s Catholic High School in Barrow-in-Furness are looking to appoint a Cover Supervisor.

Contract: Permanent, 31.25 hours per week, Term time only plus 1 week (39 weeks worked),

St Bernard’s is a successful Catholic comprehensive school, which is part of the Diocese of Lancaster, serving the community of Furness and located on the edge of the Lake District National Park. We are looking to appoint a Cover Supervisor to provide supervision of students.

Successful candidates will need to respond to questions, generally assist students to undertake set activities and to uphold standards of behaviour in the classroom. In addition to cover needs, there will also be a requirement to work alongside existing staff in curriculum areas providing general support for departments. This is a key role in supporting the day-to-day running of the school and the successful applicant must be IT literate and competent in using a variety of software packages.

We would welcome applications from someone who is looking to gain experience before pursuing a teaching role and has an NVQ level 3 in supporting teaching and learning or equivalent qualification or experience in relevant discipline.  The ability to relate well to children and adults is essential.

Teaching Assistant
