Tour de France Grand Départ 2027

The Tour de France, the world's most important cycle race, will be starting in the UK in July 2027.

On Saturday 3 July 2027, Stage 2 will start in Keswick and finish in Liverpool. On its way to Liverpool, the route will come through Westmorland and Furness, with the route passing: 

  • Grasmere
  • Windermere
  • Bowness-on-Windermere
  • The Lyth Valley
  • Milnthorpe
  • Beetham

Westmorland and Furness Council is not the organiser of the Tour de France Stage 2.

Grand Départ GB 2027 Ltd is the organiser and Westmorland and Furness Council’s primary role is to work with Grand Depart GB to ensure the safe and successful delivery of the event, with responsibilities including:

  • highways management
  • public safety
  • operational planning
