Childcare Sufficiency Assessment
The Childcare Act 2006 places a duty on local authorities to ensure, that provision of childcare is sufficient to meet the needs of parents in their area, in order for them to work or undertake education or training.
About the Childcare Sufficiency Assessment
The Childcare Sufficiency Assessment is a report by local authorities that compares the supply of childcare places against local demand to identify gaps in provision.
The Family Information Service (FIS) is in regular contact with parents and carers, childcare providers and other agencies and monitors the balance of supply and demand for childcare in Westmorland and Furness.
