Introduction

An introduction to who we are and how we can support you if you are:

  • a parent/carer
  • a young person up to 25 years with SEND
  • a professional working with families and young people

Every local authority has a SEND Local Offer. The website sets out to help children and young people (up to the age of 25 years) with SEND  and their parents/carers find out about:

  • how we help shape services
  • support they can expect in their local area
  • information on education, childcare, activities, health and much more

For example, if you think your child might have SEND, you can find out  who you can speak to for support.

Services for children and young people with SEND work together with parents and carers and the SEND Partnership. Teams providing SEND services are inspected by Ofsted who look at:

  • how we all work together
  • how we co-construct
  • how we meet the needs in our local area

View or download a copy of our most recent inspection report

We have regular drop ins and publish a quarterly newsletter. Our SEND Local Offer team work with young people, their families and our SEND Local Offer champions, to improve our services and provide information on what’s on offer in Westmorland and Furness.
