The SEND Local Offer can help you find the help and support you need. It will also provide information about activities and services for children and young people with SEND and their families.
Support groups
Parent and family support groups are a great way to meet other parents and families for practical and emotional support. The parent and family support groups are run by local parents and carers who have children with additional needs.
SEND Alliance Cumbria (SENDAC) - Parent Carer Forum
SENDAC is the statutory parent/carer forum serving Cumbria.
The forum works closely the Council, health and with other professional bodies. The members are all parent/carers themselves.
SENDAC is run on a volunteer basis to ensure that parent/carers feel listened to and valued.
SEND Information, Advice and Support Service (SENDIASS)
SENDIASS offers information, advice and support to SEND families. They make sure that parents/carers of all SEND children (0 to 25 years old) have access to information, advice and support.
