Our Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND) Local Offer aims to give you all the information you might need to do with:
- education
- health
- social care
The website aims to give you the key points but can't cover everything. You will find links to help you navigate between pages and find the information that you need.
How the SEND Local Offer is laid out
It is divided into different sections so you can find information easily.
For example:
- Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and Special Educational Needs (SEN) Support - this section will give you information about SEN support, which is when your child has SEN but doesn’t have an EHCP. This section also gives all the information you need about EHCPs
- education – this section has a lot of information including applying for a school place and moving from one phase of education to another
How the website can help you
You can use the website to help you:
- understand what to do if you are new to SEND. For example, if you think your child has SEND or you have been told by someone that they have SEND
- if you know that your child has SEND and you want to know more about how the system works and what to expect
- find support groups, fun activities, short breaks or specialist healthcare
- find out what to do in a complex situation. For example, if you need to appeal a decision
- get advice for young adults with SEND, such as options after leaving school and moving into adult services
If you work with children and young people with SEND, you might want to use this website in meetings with parents/carers or professionals.
