Westmorland and Furness Council is working on design options and costings for a library facility on the site of the closed Roose Library in Barrow, which was badly damaged in a fire following an arson attack.
There is still time for young bookworms across Westmorland and Furness to dive into their next story and complete this year’s Summer Reading Challenge.
Barrow Library is set to lead a powerful new arts project as part of the UK-wide “Our Freedom: Then and Now” programme, commemorating 80 years since the end of the Second World War.
Children across Westmorland and Furness are encouraged to join this year’s Summer Reading Challenge which launched on Saturday 5 July and will run until mid-September.
