Choosing a school for children with SEND

Your child might have Special Educational Needs and/or a Disability (SEND) and already:

• be getting support at school
• be going through an Education, Health and Care (EHC) Needs Assessment

If your child doesn’t have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), you will need to apply for a school place, in the normal way, at the appropriate time.

Independent special schools and post-16 institutions – this is a list of all independent schools and colleges for children and young people with SEND. They have all been approved under Section 41 of the Children and Families Act 2014.
