Bus arrives in Greystoke as passengers wait at the bus stop

Supported bus services open up car free travel this summer

Eleven new subsidised bus services across Westmorland and Furness have now been operating since Spring, and the summer holidays mean more people can get about to more places without having to use a car. Amongst the new routes is the 105 linking Greystoke and Penrith, which can be used to visit Greystoke Castle, the village's open air heated swimming pool and other attractions.

Support available to help young people travel for education, learning and training

Young people in Westmorland and Furness will again this year receive support to access education and training. We know that transport plays a vital role in providing access to education and skills, particularly in rural locations. The 16-19 Education Travel Bursary programme will open again to new applicants from GCSE results day on 21 August.
