North Walney 20mph Speed Limit TRO

The proposal is to replace the existing 30 mph speed limits (by virtue of the
presence of street lights), with a 20 mph speed limit, on the following roads in
Barrow-in-Furness:

Trent Vale, Thames Road, Tyne Road, Mersey Road, Tees Gardens, Tweed Rise, Medway Road, Southport Drive and Maryport Avenue.

Statutory Consultation (Various Roads) Proposed Changes to Parking Restrictions

The effect of the proposed Order will be to: -

  • i. Introduce “No Waiting At Any Time” restrictions on parts of the following roads: -

Birch Street, Windermere;
A65 Bentinck Drive, Kirkby Lonsdale;
U5527, U5528 and B5343 at Dungeon Ghyll, Great Langdale;
B5343 near Elterwater;
A591 Ambleside, alongside Jenkin’s Field; and
U5532 (Steps End Road), Pelter Bridge.

Various Bridges - Eden area

Westmorland and Furness Council hereby give notice that on 16 April 2024 it made the Traffic Regulation Order under Sections 1 and 2 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

The Order will come into operation on 6 May 2024 and its effect will be to:

i) Prohibit all traffic (including pedestrians and cyclists) from proceeding along the U3117 Garrigill Alston (Meadowhill Culvert);

ii) Introduce a 3 Tonnes maximum gross vehicle weight limit on the following Bridges;
