EYFS/KS1 Class Teacher, Maternity Cover

Required for: W/C 24th February 2025 – following the Spring Half Term break.

The governors of Brough School are looking to appoint an EYFS/KS1 teacher to join our lovely and thriving village school, to cover a period of maternity leave. Brough Community Primary School is a thriving, successful school with a great staff team.  We are rated ‘Good in all areas’ by Ofsted (2019) and are national leaders in online learning.  Our curriculum offer celebrates our local environment and we are a passionate Eco-School.   We have an outstanding outdoor area as part of our Early Years provision and have recently upgraded the classroom space and resources in Acorns Class.  It is a fabulous place to teach and work!

We would be happy to consider a job-share arrangement for this post.  We would also be keen to support the appointed candidate with transition into the role, with a handover from our current skilled member of the teaching team in Acorns Class.

This is an exciting opportunity for any teacher seeking to work in a progressive, caring school which is at the heart of its community.  

The successful candidate will:

  • be an enthusiastic practitioner, keen to take on a mixed Reception/Year 1 class (there are currently 19 pupils)
  • have experience of planning for all subjects within the Early Years/KS1 Curriculum
  • have a passion for the environment – e.g. a Forest Schools qualification
  • be up-to-date with approaches to teaching and keen to take on new challenges in the profession
  • have experience of delivering systematic, synthetic phonics programs (we use Little Wandle)
  • be able to maintain our warm and welcoming environment, to enable all children to reach their full potential

Examination Invigilators

Examination Invigilators 

Required from January 2025 – Term Time Only – Flexible Hours
Invigilator Hourly rate CE2 £11.59

Ulverston Victoria High School has a current requirement for Exam Invigilators.

An invigilator, under the guidance of the Lead Examination Invigilator and the Examination Officer, is responsible for conducting examinations in accordance with examination board guidelines and maintaining the security of the question papers.

The role is required to work either in the main examination room or in a smaller support exam room as part of our established invigilation team.  Invigilators are responsible for ensuring that all regulations are adhered to whilst providing the correct environment for students to perform to the best of their ability.

There may be an opportunity to become an Examination Reader or Scribe in the future should the need arise.

This post would be flexible to your availability, and you will be required to invigilate during the main examination season and during the mock examinations in school.  Availability is required for GCSE and A Level Examinations during the Summer term, May-June 2025, and for mock examinations to be held for two weeks in January.  Training will be provided to the successful candidates.

The Governors are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, highly motivated and well-organised School Administrator who can demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and maintain high standards within the school office environment.

Excellent communication and administrative skills are essential, along with the ability to work as part of a highly motivated team. Experience of using school Management Information Systems and a cashless parent payment system such as, School Hub, is desirable but not essential, as training will be given.  Must be willing to engage in training for new management systems as required. Good IT skills are essential. Some understanding of financial procedures would be beneficial but not essential. The post does require working closely with our school finance administrator as required.

The office is a busy, happy place of work.  The administrator is most likely to be the first point of contact for visitors to school and as such will represent the ethos of our establishment.

The successful candidate will be able to work efficiently and to a very high standard whilst retaining a sense of humour, a strong sense of team involvement and a positive attitude. A high degree of confidentiality is essential. The ability to work flexibly, use your own initiative and multitask is essential.
