How to access the Children and Young People's Occupational Therapy Service
Your child can access the Occupational Therapy team if they are:
- 0 to 18-years-old (or up to school leaving age)
and
- registered with a General Practitioner (GP)
- a resident of Lancashire catchment area. This is for home equipment and adaptation referrals.
Before considering a referral to the team, we would like you try the self-help advice on the NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde Website.
If the appropriate strategies have been:
- tried into the child/young person’s everyday routine
- they have had plenty of opportunities to practice
You may wish to make a referral.
For prompts about what information to include in the referral form, please see the referral form with prompts.
The referral should be made by the professional who knows the child/young person the best and what it is that they are having with support from yourself and your child/young person. This is often a teacher but could also be another health or social care professional.
If you would like more information about our service, please contact the team on 01524 591 671.
