Eden Family Hub News - October

Sensory room

What we’ve been up to…

We have had a busy start to autumn at Eden Family Hub; we are running numerous sessions and activities during October.

We would like to say a massive thank you to all the families who have attended our activities, groups and events.

Two virtual Togetherness sessions currently run during the week. Families have been able to choose a time that best suits their busy lives, either day or evening sessions. Our Virtual sessions are supporting our families living across the rurality of Westmorland and Furness to access support when transport and travel can be difficult.

We are enjoying delivering our Invest In Play sessions throughout the autumn.

A number of families have recently completed our 4 weeks virtual Diddy Decider skills group. This group allows busy parents living in rural Cumbria to access the content and support their children with the strategies and resources that are shared during this time.

Our six-week Family Group Decider Skills at Penrith has recently been completed. We are now running these weekly sessions at Appleby Family Hub.

Stay and Play Mondays and Fridays at Penrith Family Hub

On rotation across both Appleby and Kirkby Stephen hubs we run weekly Chill, chat and Play, Little Bookworms, Sing, Sign and Rhyme and Baby Explorer sessions.

Infant massage sessions run throughout Eden during the year. Sessions have just been completed in Shap and are now running at Penrith Family Hub.

Weekly Infant Feeding sessions continue to run at Penrith Family Hub.

We are now also running fortnightly Infant Feeding support sessions at Alston and Appleby.

Our Sensory room continues to be very popular with families.

We have had Baby Yoga running which has been well attended. Will be back soon.

During the autumn we have collaborated with the library to join our Little Bookworms events.
We’ve also worked with them to deliver STEM sessions for school-aged children during half term.

What we’re looking forward to…

Infant massage will begin sessions at Kirkby Thore Hub in November.

Our new Infant Massage Dads and Baby sessions will be running on Saturdays starting next month in Penrith.

We’ll be attending Penrith’s Community Day celebration on Sunday 8th November, where we’ll be running an active baby and toddler session.

On 21st November, we’ll be officially launching DadPad in Eden at Penrith Library - a great digital and printed resource to support new fathers.

The same day, we’ll be running a free craft session in the Devonshire Arcade as part of Penrith Sparkle.
