Our Apprenticeship and Early Careers team is part of the Human Resources and Organisational Development service. We provide:
- internal staff and new recruits access to a high-quality apprenticeship programme
- support for the promotion, recruitment, selection, and succession planning for all council apprentices, including internal staff and new recruits
Our apprenticeship programme offers apprenticeship opportunities across our large, diverse organisation, in many different types of work, such as:
- customer services
- business administration
- finance
- highways maintenance
- civil engineers
- fire fighters
- safety advisors
- adult care
- children’s care
- transport planning
The training is funded by the apprenticeship levy. To access this funding, the council’s apprenticeship programme is required to record the details for all of the council apprentices and all of the council’s-maintained school apprentices on the government’s apprenticeship management service. The details recorded, include candidate name and date of birth, type of apprenticeship, cost, and level.

- Armed Forces veteran status
The criminal and law enforcement data requirements include any criminal offences.

Who we share your personal data with
Where there is a lawful reason to do so, we may share your data with:
- its commissioned apprenticeship training providers (Training Provider)
- other parts of the council or
- other public bodies or organisations
During the recruitment and selection process and throughout the duration of the apprenticeship, training providers may share your personal data with the Apprenticeship and Early Careers Team, including results of aptitude tests, eligibility checks, skills assessments and ongoing performance.
