When you make an online card payment to the former Barrow Borough or South Lakeland District Council, you are directed to a Secure Card Portal facility provided by Access UK Ltd. All online payments are directly processed using Access PaySuite services.
Access PaySuite's online payment management solutions are independently and rigorously security assessed, and Access PaySuite is certified as a Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) Level 1 payment processor, as required by Visa and MasterCard.
What information we collect
We need some personal data from you. This includes:

- address
- email address (where provided)
- payment identifier, such as your Council Tax or Rent account number
We do not need any special category data from you.
We do not need any criminal or law enforcement data from you.

We’ll collect data from you using a record of your payment via a secure file download from Access UK Ltd.

- allocate your payment to the relevant account
- identify your payment in case of a query
Who we share your personal data with
We collect your data from government agencies. For example the Department for Work and Pensions or Law Enforcement Agencies.
We may receive personal, special category personal or criminal and law enforcement data about you from the third parties mentioned above and other public bodies and organisations. In this case, we will tell you the source of the information unless we are unable to do so by law.
