Smoking and vaping insight work
The Public Health team has commissioned Cumbria Youth Alliance to carry out insight work on children and young people’s attitudes to smoking and vaping in Westmorland and Furness.
The work will explore young people’s experiences of smoking and vaping to help shape effective health education, prevention programmes and regulatory approaches to reduce smoking and vaping among young people.
Cumbria Youth Alliance will run focus groups in each locality: Eden, South Lakeland and Barrow‑in‑Furness. The groups include:
- young people in Year 6 (aged 10 to 11)
- young people in Year 9 (aged 13 to 14)
- young people aged 16 to 18, including those in post‑16 education or not in education, employment or training (NEET)
adult stakeholders
